Blue Velvet has a long history of hosting dance parties. Our venue comfortably holds up to 120 persons over 3 levels – main bar, dance floor, lounge and outdoor smokers/beer garden. We have a well-equipped DJ booth with Pioneer CDJ-1000 decks and Technics turntables (full kit list available on request including lighting) and all areas of the venue have excellent speaker systems and sub-woofers. - There is a non-refundable hire fee of $300 per event. Your booking is only confirmed on receipt of this amount and no booking dates will be held longer than 7 days.
- We expect you to promote for 100+ patrons. Events with less than 80 persons will not be considered.
- The promoter keeps the door take on ticket sales, and the venue keeps the bar take. Promoters are expected to provide a suitable person to collect monies at the door or to validate tickets. Promoters are responsible for providing a cash float for the register at the main entrance.
- The venue is responsible for all security personnel and bar staff.
- Your DJ’s are not to disconnect any of the venue’s audio equipment or bring in and connect to or use your audio equipment in any way with any component of the venue’s PA or DJ systems. You are only to bring in your records or CD’s or MP3 data discs. The only exceptions are for laptop-based DJ’s, i-pods and you need to bring your own set of headphones for track cueuing.
- A DJ rider will not be supplied by the venue, although DJ’s are entitled to 50% off their first 4 drinks up to a total of 2 DJ’s. For more than 2 DJ’s, we sell Drink Cards in blocks of $100 in total drink sales at a discounted rate of $60 per drink card which are prepaid by the promoter.
- The venue will open strictly 1 hour prior to listed function start.
- The venue requires full personal contact details for all promoters and DJ’s including mobile telephone numbers and driver’s license details. At least one of the promoters is required to place a credit card with the venue’s managment prior to the commencement of the party to ensure the minimum spend and for any damages which will be automatically debited as necessary. The credit card will be returned at the conclusion of your event.
- Any damage to the venue or audio equipment is payable by the promoters or the person(s) identified as having caused damage or accepting liability for same. A credit card is required to be placed behind the bar prior to the start of your event which will be automatically debited in the event of damage. Damage includes willful and accidental damages to property, plant & equipment. Damage also includes breakage and confetti/glitter/talcum powder, etc.
- The venue has a minimum spend scale that depends on the anticipated size of your event. In the rare case that the party fails to meet the minimum spend requirement, the promoter is liable for making up the balance of the minimum spend that will be deducted from the promoter’s credit card.
- The venue has minimum behavior standards and all guests must be over the age of 18 years and possess valid proof of age. Intoxicated or offensive persons will not be admitted at the main entrance or permitted to remain within the venue at any time. Liquor or any other beverage is prohibited from being brought inside the venue.
- Nothing is to be nailed, screwed, stapled or adhered to any wall, door or other surface or part of the building. Signage in the venue must be kept to a minimum and must be approved in writing prior to the event.
- If the party does not have at least 60 persons in attendance at 1am, the venue reserves the right to wind-down the party giving the promoter 30 minutes notice of this. The venue reserves the right to close early should patron numbers significantly reduce after this time.
- Confirmation of final numbers and a copy or link to your party invitation/wording/flyers/posters/social networking efforts is required 1 week prior to your event.
- If a booking is cancelled within 30 days prior to the function, the promoter will forfeit the hire fee. The venue reserves the right to cancel any venue booking at its discretion. The venue accepts no liability for cancelled events.
- The venue does not accept responsibility for damage or loss of goods left on the premises prior to, during or after your function.
