Bar
Blue Velvet Bar & Nightclub is an upmarket boutique bar, lounge, club, gallery and allround function venue. Blue Velvet has two fully stocked bars. The main bar on the ground floor has tap beer as well as an extensive range of boutique beers. We have a select wine list sourced from some of the best wineries in Australia, New Zealand, France and Italy. A full selection of cocktails are also available from either bar. On Level 2, there is the nightclub space with dancefloor and another bar.


Lounge
Blue Velvet has a new multimedia gallery extension called the whiteroomgallery. This space doubles as our lounge and performance space. The gallery space can be hired for functions (80people) and also hides our exclusive VIP room (seating 12). The entire venue including the upstairs nightclub (120people) and fully stocked bar can also be hired for dance parties, exhibitions, performances, product launches, or for a variety of functions, including buck's and hen's night's so contact us for further details.


Club
On Level 2, Blue Velvet has a state of the art sound system and DJ booth with CD-turntables, mixers, classic turntables and laser lighting console. The dancefloor also has it's own bar and can be hired for functions. The venue also has an outdoor licensed smoking area & beer garden that opened in June 2008.

Friday 30th October: ENZYME#11 8pm-late

ENZYME is a semi-regular Melbourne event which provides opportunities for the public with taste, to enjoy Australian underground live music performances and visuals. Previous artists have performed well outside the mainstream through a diverse slather including but not limited to; noise, experimental, avante garde, dark ambient, electronica, industrial, gothic, darkwave, trip hop, dark hip hop, metal and beyond. Dining
We are pleased to announce that Raoul Symons is our new Chef. He has been cooking in Melbourne's best kitchens for 17 years. He was appointed Head Chef of South Yarra's France-Soir at age 21. He has excellent experience in pastry, European, Asian & Middle Eastern cuisine. Let Raoul and the team @ Blue Velvet cater for all your special occasions from birthdays, cocktail parties, club nights, through to corporate functions, arts events and fashion shows. Dance Classes
We also offer a Pole Dancing Rehearsal Studio Space and the team from Pole Fetish run Pole Dance Classes and Belly Dance Classes. The Blue Velvet team of dancers also perform regularly and teach their craft for Hen's, Buck's, Birthday and other speciality functions.
